Health Update

Sorry guys- no freebie today. I haven't been able to get around to getting anything done as far as layouts and quickpages go... I'm slowly getting to it. Everytime I go to sit at the computer to do something, I seem to get dizzy fairly easily, so my creative time has been limited.

I am just wanting to update you on some things going on. I mentioned before that I was diagnosed with Meniere's Disease, and I am supposed to be going to Ann Arbor to the University of Michigan Vestibular Testing Center. I was supposed to go yesterday, but had to cancel because of some red tape insurance issues. I go to get the testing done now on December 23rd, and see the doctor on January 13th. I am concerned because I have had some of these tests before, and I ended up going home sick and it took several days for me to recover. I am concerned because I don't want to be sick for Christmas. But at the same time, I want answers as to what they can do to help me, and I am not going to get those answers unless I get tested- so I guess I have to do what I have to do, huh?

Anyway, I will try to get some more stuff up here for you. Not only from Melanies creations, but also Holly. I am going to work on some QP's from some of her newest kits as well.

Look for them sometime next week. The only thing that will stop me is my diziness. Wish me luck!

I have had so much going on that I completly spaced and didn't even think to save my quickpage in png format! I'm sorry guys!
Thanks Melanie for calling me on it, and going above and beyond by zipping it up for me. Here is the new link, with a PNG and not a PSE file. If you downloaded the other one, I am so sorry!!
The other link is no longer valid. Please download here for the correct format. And please leave a comment if you download!

Sorry again!!!

As promised...

I have a freebie for you! I have not been able to do too much since being out of the hospital, but since being on the computer only really requires me to sit... haha... I have been doing a little scrapping. Melanie over at By Gods Design has a new kit coming out that is being revealed today, and I have a layout to share with you, along with a quickpage.

This is a short post today since I am busy with wedding stuff this weekend. My good friend Tammy is getting married and I am headed to the reception hall to sit and make favors. Don't worry- I'll be sitting down! No worries about me falling on my head, LOL!!

I'll be around more often. Here's the previews, and download links. Please remember, don't share the download links. Send them here instead! Thanks!

credit for the design is all Melanie Morales of By Gods design from her new kit "Transforming Love"

And here's the goodie for you!!

Please see above post for correct download link.

Till next time...

Where have I been?

Hi. First let me just profusely aplogize for not being around lately. I have been going through a lot, and life has just been crazy. Here's a little snippet of what has happened to me in the last week or so...
I have been in the hospital since Wednesday night (10/08/08). I was at church, doing what I normally do, and all of a sudden I felt like there was this huge weight just keeping me down, like it was pushing me over. I made it as far as one of the offices, and I fell first to my knees, then all the way down to the floor. From what I understand (cause my memory about this is foggy) I passed out or something. Anyway, long story short, I have to see a specialist in Ann Arbor. And, because of this dizziness and lack of balance I am having, I am pretty much forced to use a walker. I am stubborn, as most of you already know, and this is going to be REALLY hard for me to get used to, but as they said, this is only temporary until they can figure out how to fix me. Right now their diagnosis is something called Meniere's disease. Not sure exactly what it is, but when I know- I will tell you.I just wanted to thank those that sent me well wishes via im, or emailed, or those of you who came to visit me. I appreciate it so much. It was soooo boring laying in that bed, not able to do anything. It was horrible! So now, I have to make an appointment to see another specalist in Ann Arbor, MI. This is just a horrible experience for me alltogether.I am just glad to be home!!

So I am finally back home, and this walker thing is a struggle because of the fact that I live in a mobile home. I am sooooo frustrated, and so I am hoping to maybe take my frustrations out on some scrapping!! That is my hope, anyway.
Unfortunatly, I have not had a chance to do anything with Melanie's CT yet, but I will be getting to that soon! Also, I might also throw in some quick pages from Holly over at freebie vault.

OK, well I better get going and get ready to go to the doctors office. Yay. How fun (aren't I just dripping with enthusiasm? lol)

I promise not to stay away so long!

Such a dufus!

OK, I want to say a HUGE thank you to Terri who pointed out to me that I was wrong about my first frame. I actually created it into a PSP file, and I advertised it as a photoshop elements file. I have updated the file now, and I have included the PSD file, as well as a png of the background without the frame. I am so sorry to anyone this confused or inconvienienced. The download link in the original post is now correct.

I am in complete shock. This is all new to me, and I am HONORED that I am on DIGI-FREE! When I got the comment email, I about fell off my chair! This is a serious big deal to me, and I am honored that Maria felt that my frame was worthy of a mention on her blog. 62 downloads so far! WOW!!!
PLEASE--- If you make a layout using my frames, I would love to see it! email it to me at dawn5778[at]gmail[dot]com. As I get more in, I will add a slideshow or something to show them off!
OK, so I went and did it again! I created a new frame, and although it is similar to the other one, this one has an outer white frame that is more grungy. I used a brush to give it a more textured effect. Also, You have two options for the frame, as you will see in the preview below:

Both frame options are in the PSE file. I think I may have left the blue background in as well. At any rate, I do hope that you will find this to be useful. You can download this HERE

A little something for you

Hello :)

I have been so busy lately with various things. I am trying really hard to get some things done for the 2 CT teams I am on, but it has been rough going for me lately. I hope you ladies understand.

Anyway, I made this sliced photo frame for something else I was working on, and it is just sitting on my hard drive collecting dust, so I thought I would share it with you. The outer frame is a seperate layer, so all you will have to is mask your photo into the proper layer (it is named as such) and boom! You have yourself a sliced photo!

Please don't share the 4shared link with anyone. Please leave some love if you download. I am still new at creating things, so please bear with me :)

Oh- another thing to mention is that the layered file is a PSE file. If someone feels so incluned to make into other formats like png, feel free to do so, and I will post it on here. My email address is in mt tou.

Thanks so much! Here's a preview of the frame:

Sorry for being MIA

Hello. I hope you all are doing well. Sorry for not being around much, but I have had a lot going on lately. I just wanted to quickly write you a little something to let you know that I am still alive, LOL
I am working on a couple things for the 2 CT teams I am on, and will have something to show and possibly give soon.
Again, sorry for being MIA.

Monday, June 9, 2008

OK, my friend Holly informed me that some of my photobucket pictures aren't showing up. I know why! I moved some photos around in my photobucket account, and it affected my blog. Sorry about that! I will get it fixed asap...
Also, she mentioned that page of Amber and Andrew is skewed. It's not like that in my actual finished file, so I am not sure why it did it on here, but I am gonna fix it for ya!
I will have some new stuff for you soon. I haven't been online much because my computer room is right now the hottest room in the house, and I try not to stay in here too long. I badly need to replace thewindow in here, but right now I can't adfford it, so I am loking into moving the computer to another room, but that also involves buying a usb wireless adapter so I can have internet access. That is much cheaper than buying a whole new window!
Thanks for being so patient!!

Holly has given me permission to use her kits to make some quick pages for you, so I will be working on that soon, as well as showing you some stuff I have been working on with my 2 CT teams I am on.

Chat soon!!

here goes another one!

Well, honestly, I didn't plan on doing layouts all day long, but that is what happened lol! I guess I need to learn to wait until the end of the day to post something so that I can just post them all together lol!!! If there are any of you who are actually reading this, I apologize for the amount of posts today!

Anyway, I found this template on Amy W's blog, and knew I needed to use it! My friend Robin got her kid's pictures done recently, so I told her I would make some pages for her.

So this first one I used the template, along with Papers from Hazy Summer by Vicki. The word art came from Bethany. This is Amber, by the way :)

OK, this second one I used various pieces from the DSO May color challenge kit. You can find the link to DSO on the right side of my blog. Oh, and the font I used is called ADAMN. I think it came on my computer, but I am sure you can google it and find it. And this layout features Amber, and her big brother Andrew. I will have another layout to add to this once I come up with something for Andrews pics.

Zoo page 3

This is made with the Laughing Zebra kit found at By God's Design. The photo was "chopped" using a slice up photo frame done by Red Leaf Digi Scrapping

This was a lot of fun. I needed to do a layout using the Laughing Zebra kit, to fufill my CT duties, and I hope I did ya proud Melanie!!

Zoo Layout #3

OK, this one is probably the most simple layout I have done, but I really like it. There was another picture I took, but it also had the other hippo in it- who was laying the opposite direction. I don't know about you, but I would rather not have a picture of a hippos rear in my scrap page, LOL!

So this is the last one of my zoo series I have done. The next ones I think will be of the zebras (finally get to use melanies cool kit for it) and the rhino and elephant. It is my goal to make an actual book with these, which is why I am doing it with only one animal per page.

Here's the layout of the hippo! I used Amara's Blue romance kit to make it.

Zoo layout #2

OK, so I am playing more with the clipping tool. I am not completly sure that I like this one (would appreciate your input). I mean, well I just don't know- lol!!

I used the ocean sunrise kit by myangel236, although I did recolor it to match the pictures better.

So, here you go.... let me know what you think!

New layout

So I just finished reformatting my computer :(

Got the blue screen of doom. It was a horrible weekend for me. I won't bore you with the details, but I DO want to show you my newest layout, made with the "Imagine" Kit over at Sentimental Style. I loved working with this, and I hope you like the layout!

My CT intro pages

So... I am a CT for not one, but two designers. I haven't done anything with either of them yet but make an intro layout, so I thought I would share them with you.

This first one is for Melanie, over at By God's Design
The layout was made with her grab bag.

The other one I made was the intro for Sally over at Winged Heart Ohio

This was made with her Eileen B kit, which is available on her blog.

And to finish it off, and to give you as lil more info about me in general, here is the bio I gave to Sally to introduce myself to all of you...

Hi, I'm Dawn! I live in a suburb of Toledo, Ohio, and just turned 30 on May 7th. Other than digi scrapping, I co run a gaming league on I am not on the computer I am at church. I am extremely involved at my home church. I do all the media-related stuff. I volunteer at the church office twice a week, helping out wherever needed. One thing that perhaps makes me unique in regard to digital scrapbooking is that I am legally blind. Because of that, I am on disability and unable to work (that goes along with a wide gamut of other health problems) I feel that being visually impaired should not necessarily have to limit what I am able to do. Sure, it may take a little longer than usual to complete a layout, but I feel that the end result is comparable to other layouts that are out there. Now granted- I am rather new to the world of scrapbooking digitally, but I think I am getting the hang of it. I learn very fast, and love a challenge. I am so thrilled that Sally has decided to take a chance on this newbie, and I hope to get to know all of you better in the months to come!!!

I got tagged!!!!

Thanks to Melanie, Here is another post for you!!

Here's the deal...

1. Link your tagger and list these rules on your blog

2. Share 7 facts about yourself on your blog, some
random, some weird.

3. Tag 7 people at the end of your post by
leaving their names as well as links to their blogs.

4. Let them know they have been tagged by leaving
a comment on their blog .

OK, so some facts about me....

1. I love to sing. So much so, in fact, that my senior year in high school was ALL vocal music classes. I sing every chance I get

2. I co run a gaming league. We are pogo junkies lol

3. I want to learn how to design. I love making layouts, but I would love to learn how to make my own things to put on the layouts.

4. I am visually impaired. I have something called Progressive Optic Neuropathy, among other things, and so creating things takes a little longer for me, but I think that in the end, it is just as good as anyone elses (except for the fact that most people are more advanced than I am)

5. I am learning two image programs at the same time. PSP x2 and pse 6. I like both of them, but in different ways.

6. I love to take pictures, but sometimes my camera is stupid (I have a canon sd630)

7. I am looking forward to meeting all of you scrappers! I frequent a lot of blogs, but I haven't really introduced myself to a lot of you, because I didnt have a blog.... but now I do.... so I am going to tag 7 people whos blogs I do frequent.

OK, there are a lot of people I could tag right now because I have a list of blogs on my google reader that I can pick from, so I am just going to chose 7 of ou....

1. Holly Ann...
2. Shauna...
3. Linda....
4. Susan....
5. Melissa....
6. Andrea....
7. Sally....

First blog.... yay!!!

wooohooo!!! So this is my innagural post to my new blog! Yayness!!! OK, I have had very bad luck with blogs in the past, but this one is different, because this one is all about digital scrapbooking- my new hobby (some would say severe addiction... LOL!!!) I might throw a little life muses here and there, but for the most part, this blog is devoted to showing you all my layouts that I create.

I want to stop right there and take a couple moments to tell you some really good news! I have been accepted on not just one... but TWO creative temas!! I feel so honored that they think I have some talent is making a layout/quickpage. I will be the first to admit that I have a lot to learn, but I am totally accepting that challenge!

So who am I creating for, you ask? Well, the first one is
Winged heart Ohio. Sally does a great job at designing, and I look forward to making some quick pages for her kits.
And Melanie over at
By God's Design is the second creative team I have joined. She also has some amazing talent.

So.... I have created some layouts, but before I post them for your viewing pleasure, I need to go retrace my steps. You see, being a newbie scrapper, I was not aware that I had to keep track of what I used for each layout to give proper credit. I am so ashamed that I didnt do a good job of keeping track. I have come up with a new system for remembering to do this, and that is to create a word file that will be in the folder along with my layout files.

Moving right along..... another thing that I am learning is Paint Shop Pro X2 and Adobe Photoshop Elements 6, which are the two programs I am using to make my layouts and quick pages for the CT's. I have soooooooooo much to learn! Both of these programs are very powerful and are intimidating. I am on the hunt for tutorials (preferably video) so that I can learn, learn, learn!

Well, I think I have covered just about everything that I think I possibly can for my first post..... EVER in this blog! I do hope that you will enjoy the layouts that I post here, and comments are ALWAYS appreciated!!!
